Part of our holiday tradition growing up involved watching The Sound of Music. When I was little, I fell asleep before the movie finished. Imagine my surprise when I could stay awake! The Von Trappe family had to escape? Oh my.
I can still sing along to most of the songs.
“I am sixteen going on seventeen…”
“So long, farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, goodnight.”
And of course, who can forget,
“Raindrops on roses
And whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things”
Oh Maria… how can we feel bad when you’re singing about kittens and mittens?
Now, as we wind down over the next few weeks and welcome in 2018, I thought I’d share with you a few of MY favourite things – tips and tools that help me stay organized and on track.
Watch for two more over the holidays.
FAVOURITE THING #1
Today’s favourite thing is an app call Enpass (FYI this is NOT an affiliate link.)
It’s a secure password keeper.
Now, don’t tell my husband, but I LOVE this app (we tend to bug him about “handy dandy” apps like this one.) But, as much as I like to tease him, I have to admit that I’ve fully embraced Enpass. I use the desktop version but it syncs easily with mobile devices.
It’s definitely a time and sanity saver for me. We have one account for our personal passwords which we share access to, and then I have a separate account for all my business passwords. Instead of having passwords written here, there and everywhere (or taking up space in my brain) I open Enpass and voila! Everything is right there, including user names.
Just remember to keep it up to date!
You’ll benefit from Enpass or a similar app if you:
- waste a lot of time searching for passwords and want to reduce mental clutter and be more organized
- continually have to reset your passwords because you can’t remember it
- are concerned about security and or need to safely share passwords with other team members
What about you? Do you have a favourite app that you’d like to recommend?
