Imagine two piles of laundry.
You’ve got time to wash, dry and put away only ONE load.
Which one do you choose?
I found myself in this situation about a month ago.
I was in a bit of a rush to get started, and immediately began to gather up the larger pile.
Makes sense. The pile with the MOST dirty clothes in it gets done FIRST, right?
But as I gathered up that mound of clothes, I saw that ALL 4 pairs of my son’s shorts* were in that smaller pile. If I didn’t wash them, he’d have no clean shorts for the morning. It wouldn’t be the end of the world, but it would be an inconvenience.
With this in mind, I dropped the clothes I’d already scooped up, and washed the smaller load.
Because clean shorts before morning was more of a PRIORITY.
And, I knew we could go days before I really HAD to wash that other, bigger load.
But, if I didn’t stop and think it through, I would have made a different choice. And that choice would have caused a bit of an issue in the morning.
When faced with more than one thing to do, how do YOU know what’s a priority?
Or when you’re rushed for time, how can you slow down and make a good choice?
How about when you’re feeling overwhelmed with ALL the things you want to do? How do you FILTER your “to-do’s” so you know exactly where to focus your energy when EVERYTHING feels important?
These are the kinds of questions I help entrepreneurs answer in their business. It’s been my experience that people don’t take the time to think through what’s MOST important to do before they act. Or, they make a plan without prioritizing first, and focus on lesser priorities. In both cases, they wonder why they don’t make the kind of progress they desire.
what would be possible?
What would be possible if you woke up every day knowing exactly where to focus your time, energy, and money? How would your business be different if you got really clear on your next steps so you could take action? What would that be like for you?
get your priorities straight
Here’s the thing: I know it’s possible, and I’d love for you to feel more confident in the actions you take in your business. That’s why I created The TOP 5 Strategy Session. I noticed that entrepreneurs just like you feel lost and confused about where to start and what to do next – and they spin their wheels as a result.
When you have a TOP 5 Strategy Session with me, you get to share everything you’ve got swirling around in your head – your ideas, your to-do lists, your vision. By the end, you walk away with a list of your top 5 priorities so you know exactly what to do next. It’s harder to get distracted by bright, shiny objects when you’re super clear about where you’re headed and what you need to do to get there.
Clients who have had a TOP 5 feel excited and motivated to get to work and make things happen, and they love to do it without the drama or trauma!
If this sounds good to you, I invite you to have a TOP 5 with me!
Rather have a conversation first? No problem. You can schedule time with me to see if we’re a good fit.
* Yes, I bought him more shorts…
